From 1991 to 2000, Rickenbacker produced a limited edition signature model bass in his name, the 4001CS. Squire released two solo albums, Fish Out of Water (1975) and Chris Squire's Swiss Choir (2007), a Christmas album. He was posthumously inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of Yes in 2017.

8/19/2004 · Have you tried learning the bass line to, say, Sound Chaser from Relayer?? Squire's approach is 180 degrees from Flea. I look at Squire as having more of a 'classical' approach to the bass, where Flea is pretty much all about the funk. I like them both, but if I had to pick one, it would be Chris.

11/10/2012 · Most of these replies are ludicrous. I am by far a Geddy fanatic but undoubtedly, Chris Squire ALMOST matches him. If not for Squire, Geddy wouldn't have his tone, style, and most of his chops. If not for Geddy, Chris Squire would be the best on Earth. As far as bass creativity and melodic playing, Geddy=8/10 , Squire=10/10.

Very sad to hear of the passing of Chris Squire, bass player of the progressive rock band YES, today. Chris was a truly unique bass player. The word ‘unique’ is used a lot, these days, of course, but in Chris’s case, it’s undisputable. His bass playing style was a million miles away from the low-pitched thud of most bassists of the time.

He is survived by his third wife Scotland Squire his five children Chandrika, Carmen, Camille, Cameron, and Xilan. Chris Squire was born in Kingsbury, London, Squire his mum was secretary, his father worked as a taxi driver.
